Purchase Agreement
Between:
Expert Cover Design (“Designer,” “we,” “our,” or “us”)
and
Client (“you,” “your”)
1. Scope of Services
The Designer agrees to provide design services as described in the Client’s order, including but not limited to:
Book Cover Design (Basic, Standard, Premium)
Book Cover Redesign Services
Fiction & Non-Fiction Book Cover Design
Premium & Illustrated Covers
Photo-Manipulated Covers, Minimalist Covers
Series & Box Set Cover Design
Audiobook Cover Design & Formatting
Print & eBook Formatting (paperback, hardback, ePub, Kindle)
Dust Jacket, Back & Spine Design
3D Mockups, Marketing Graphics, Social Media Covers, Ad Images
Logo Design, Branding Kits, and Author Website Design
Any services outside of the agreed scope will be considered extras (see Section 7).
2. Payment Terms
All services must be paid in full before work begins, unless milestone payments have been approved in writing.
For large projects (e.g., Premium Packages, Website Design), a 70% deposit may be accepted, with the balance due prior to delivery of final files.
Add-ons (such as rush delivery, revisions beyond the package, and source files) must be paid in full before delivery.
Payments are accepted via credit/debit card, PayPal, or bank transfer (see Payment Methods).
3. Deliverables & Timelines
Estimated timelines will be communicated at the project’s outset.
Rush Orders: Projects requiring accelerated timelines will incur an additional rush fee.
Delays caused by the Client (e.g., late feedback, missing materials) are not the Designer’s responsibility and may extend delivery timelines.
4. Revisions
Packages include a set number of revisions.
Additional revisions beyond the package limit will incur an extra charge per round.
Major design direction changes after concepts are delivered will be treated as new projects or billed separately.
5. Stock Images, Fonts & Licensing
Where applicable, designs may incorporate stock images, fonts, or assets.
Costs for premium or extended licenses are the Client’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
The Designer will provide proof of licensing upon request.
Clients may not redistribute or resell licensed elements independently of the original product.
6. Ownership & Rights
Final ownership of approved designs is transferred to the Client after full payment.
The Designer retains rights to display work in portfolios, websites, and marketing unless an NDA is signed.
Source files are delivered only if purchased as an add-on.
7. Add-Ons & Extras
Any requests beyond the agreed scope (e.g., additional concepts, extra formats, extended rights, marketing graphics, website features) will be billed separately. Pricing will be communicated in writing before commencing work.
8. Refunds & Cancellations
Our Refund Policy governs refunds. In summary:
A full refund will only be provided if the work has not begun.
Partial refund if cancelled after partial work (minus hours/resources used).
No refunds after concepts are delivered, final files are approved, or extras are completed.
Rush fees, add-ons, and stock licensing costs are non-refundable.
9. Technical Issues & File Delivery
Final files will be delivered in print-ready and/or digital formats as specified.
In case of technical issues (e.g., file corruption, upload errors), corrections will be made promptly.
The Designer is not responsible for issues related to third-party platforms (such as Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, and ACX), but will provide files in standard specifications.
10. Confidentiality
All manuscripts, project details, and client communications will be kept confidential and will not be shared without prior permission.
11. Dispute Resolution
Both parties agree to attempt resolution through communication first.
If unresolved, disputes will be governed by the laws of our refund policy.
12. Agreement
By placing an order and/or signing this agreement, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Purchase Agreement.
